Protecting our water sources and the health of marine life is important to me and a great concern for our future. Collages force me to compromise on the structure of a piece while still communicating my message. This has led me to new concepts and ideas for work. Techniques similar to this are used in animation and 3D graphics as well, and I think this will remain a part of my art process going forward.
Dolphins are placed at the top of composition to imply that they are important to our whole picture. The traditional fisherman is placed to show that fishing should be done with less greed and more focus on nature. His head is a pig to represent the greed of humans. Children petting dolphins and waste and boat motors are harmful to wildlife and water sources so I show them as a threat instead of an entertainment
like a brochure.
