This unfinished film was an experiment to see if I could design a character in real life and then animate him on the computer. He was constructed out of an armature covered in cloth, found electrical parts, and clay. I took many pictures of this sculpture on a lazy suzan before plugging them into various photoscanning websites. They offered an alright starting point but by the end most of him was hand molded. The end result is a character that definitely looks cgi but has a certain handmade charm. I think he benefits from decisions made while constructing the real life sculpture.
