I participated in an online weekly animation prompt in the “Create with Clint” community run by a professional visual effects director. I was challenged to a specific prompt with rules each week, then shared my work with the international community. My 3D abilities grew so much from this summer exercise. I completely changed my file management, learned to work faster, got better at hard modeling, and got better at rigging/animating 3D characters. I learned so much from the large community of professionals and amateurs by seeing their work and also receiving feedback. I am so glad I participated. For the video game character and environment design, I created the character drawn in sketchbooks first based on a request from a friend working on a game concept. After the sketches and first drafts were approved by him, I created a 3D animated trailer for him with the characters. I first grabbed a standard armature from Mixamo and modeled around it in Blender for each character. I then created the stylized textures by combining a grunge texture projected from the camera with Eevee’s diffuse texture.
